This is the first part of a two-part interview where Neil Fletcher and I discuss our trip in the summer of 2016 through the Swedish archipelago. Regular listeners will remember Neil, who first came on the podcast a year or two ago to talk about his experiences chartering in Croatia. He then joined myself and Jack Andrys for a weeklong jaunt aboard my boat See Dream through Greece and Turkey in 2015. Neil enjoyed the experience so much that he bought his own boat, Arcturus, a 1966 Allied Seabreeze yawl, sight unseen, in the Fall of 2015 from Andy Schell of the On The Wind podcast (formerly 59-north).
Neil spent ten weeks in the Swedish archipelago this summer and is planning to repeat that experience, perhaps venturing further afield to Finland, in 2017. You can find much more detail about sailing in Sweden at his website, sailingarcturus.com, where you’ll find information on specific destinations, tips on money, communications, getting around and general information on what is one of the world’s great cruising destinations.

My daughter and I hiked up this trail a couple weeks later to get a photograph of the Aspen the delayed my walk up the trail and probably saved me a mauling by the bear.
